GIFT A DONATION TO THE NABD THIS WINTER WITH BUG

If you're lacking inspiration as to what to buy for your motorcycle-mad loved one, relative or mate this Christmas therešs one gift that will allow you to give them extra cash in their pocket and help a worthy biker charity at the same time.

Purchasers of BUG 2 Biker-Friendly Stop-Offs discount cards, which offer savings at hundreds of motorcycle-friendly stop-offs around Britain, be they B&Bs, hotels, retailers or leading attractions, will be able to do their bit to help the National Association for Bikers with a Disability (NABD). BUG has teamed up with the NABD to provide a donation in keeping with the spirit of Christmas and hopes to be able to raise as much money as possible for this worthwhile cause.

Every purchase of a BUG discount card, which costs £15 plus postage, will see £3 going to the NABD, whilst the purchase of a BUG Guide for £3.80 plus P&P will result in a donation of 50p to the charity. Purchases can be made direct from the BUG website at www.bug2bikerfriendlystopoffs.co.uk or via 0800 458 9638. Payment can be made by debit or credit card, cheque, or through PayPal.

The savings that can be made with the card mean that the purchase cost can be recouped very easily so that within no time at all the rider who likes to get out and about is quids in.

The BUG Guide itself highlights motorcycle-friendly establishments across the country and the facilities that they have available for riders. It also carries a range of editorial features and is supported by biker body, The BMF.

The NABD has been championing the cause of riders with a disability since 1991, helping to adapt motorcycles, trikes and sidecar outfits so that they can be ridden by people with disabilities and fine-tuned to suit individual requirements. It also offers initial rider training for disabled people who want to take up motorcycling and has a number of ‘learner legal’ machines which are lent out free of charge for the purposes of professional training and tests.

BUG's managing director, Jane Hunt, says: "We are delighted to be able to assist the NABD through this initiative. All donations received by the NABD are used solely to fund its adaptation grants and the other services that it offers to disabled riders, so every penny will directly help a disabled rider."

To give the initiative a great chance of earning funds for the NABD, it will last until February 28, 2006. This will give riders the chance to overcome the January blues by getting out and about with their BUG Guide and card to visit some of the best stop-offs in the country, even if they opt to go on four wheels instead of two in inclement weather! It also means that those stuck for a Valentines gift will have their problem solved.
