GETTING A PIZZA THE ACTION

Penwortham's Priory Sports and Technology College is celebrating being the first school in Lancashire, and probably the country, to have its very own outdoor pizza oven.

The oven was donated by Andrew Manciocchi of Orchard Ovens. Heathcotes sent their top chef from The Olive Press, Andy McGuiness, to help Priory students supervise visiting year six pupils from partner schools.

The project was supervised by teachers Shelley Lewis-Lavender and Olwyn Marshall in the technology department. At full heat, the oven will cook a pizza to perfection in a record 42 seconds.
